Over 200 Andean treasures from Nazca to Inca on view in Draguignan

Located in Draguignan, the Hôtel départemental des expositions du Var showcases 'Inca. L'héritage sacré des Andes,' which features more than 230 artifacts from ancient civilizations including Chavín, Nazca, Mochica, Huari, Chimú, and Inca. Curated by Carole Fraresso, this exhibition includes items on loan from Museo Larco, Museo de Arte de Lima, Musée du quai Branly-Jacques Chirac, and Musée des Amériques d'Auch. Spanning three floors, it explores cultures from Ecuador to southern Chile over a period of three millennia, concluding with the Spanish invasion in the 16th century. Notable pieces include a jaguar-pattern tunic, a Chimú jar, a ceremonial drum, Mochica portrait bottles, and a Tiwanaku vase. The exhibition is open until September 27.
