Othmane Bengebara Studio's Minimalist Villa Ddaar in Morocco Joins Wallpaper* Architects Directory 2026
Founded in 2020 by architect Othmane Bengebara, who has French-Moroccan roots, Othmane Bengebara Studio has earned a spot in the Wallpaper* Architects Directory 2026. Their latest endeavor, House Ddaar, is a minimalist villa located in Essaouira, Morocco, covering 300 sq m on a 25-acre agricultural property, completed between 2023 and 2024. The villa boasts interconnected living areas and incorporates passive ventilation, solar energy, and efficient water management systems, along with handcrafted features by local artisans. Bengebara, an alumnus of École Spéciale d'Architecture and Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, has experience with royal residences and Louis Vuitton projects. The studio also designed the Uzbekistan Pavilion for the 2024 Venice Biennale and is working on a private aviation facility for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
