Origin Architect Transforms Beijing School's Uniform Center into Creative Hub
Origin Architect has completed the renovation of the former School Uniform Center at Beijing National Day School, transforming it into a Student Creative Activity Center. The project, initiated by student concerns over space quality, was part of the school's 2023 Annual Ten Practical Campus Improvement Projects. The original building, an underground concrete fish pond, had become a chaotic mix of a dim bookstore, print shop, and cramped uniform storage. The renovation, led by architect Li Ji, revitalizes the 830 m² structure under pines and sunlight, aiming to foster student creativity and sensibility. The design team includes Chen Sicong, Ye Qiang, Xiao Di, and Wang Wendi, with interns Wang Rui and Wang Lifei. The project was completed in 2025 and is located in Hai Dian Qu, Beijing.
