OODA's Miramar Tower Brings Dendriform Vertical Housing to Porto's Coast

architecture-design · 2026-10-06

OODA, an architecture studio based in Porto, has finalized the Miramar Tower, a residential structure that ascends 15 stories above a podium, aligning parallel to the roadway and matching the height of nearby towers. Notable for its seaside location, the design aims to provide housing options with over 200 square meters of balcony space on each floor. While it shares proportions with buildings in Pasteleira Park to the north, Miramar Tower stands out in its conceptual design. By situating the building centrally on the plot, the architects maximized space between neighboring structures. The design features a structuralist framework with a vertical dendriform shape, enhancing adaptability. The floors are arranged with one or two rooms, creating a spiral effect that imparts a dynamic visual movement. This project was featured on ArchDaily.
