Omega Expands Speedmaster 38 Line with Seven New References

Omega has introduced seven new references in its Speedmaster 38 collection, underscoring the brand's commitment to smaller watch sizes. The collection, first launched in 2017, was a scaled-down version of the iconic 42 mm Moonwatch. The new models include stainless-steel, two-tone, and diamond-set executions, but the standout is a stainless-steel version with a lyre-lug case, five-link bracelet, black 'dot-over-90' tachymeter bezel, and a black dial with recessed round subdials and no date window. This particular model is powered by the exclusive Co-Axial Calibre 3332, making it the closest to a small-size Moonwatch that collectors have seen. The collection's versatility is highlighted by Omega CEO Raynald Aeschlimann, who notes that the 38 mm size appeals to a broad clientele, suitable for both casual and formal wear. The launch follows the Milano Cortina editions in late 2025, which featured traditional round subdials and a cleaner dial, and black- and silver-dial models that retained the dual-color bezel. Omega's move reflects a broader industry trend toward more moderate case sizes, a departure from the oversized watches of the 1990s and early 2000s. The new Speedmaster 38 models start at $6,500.
