Omar Rajeh Brings Solo Dance Piece "Danser, c'est pas pour nous" to CWB

Lebanese choreographer Omar Rajeh presents his solo work "Danser, c'est pas pour nous" at the CWB, a piece blending autobiographical narrative, performance, and contemporary dance. Alone on stage, Rajeh treats the body as a site of memory, archive, and resistance. The work draws on more than twenty years of creation across Beirut, the Arab world, and Europe, questioning the relationship between art, power, and existence. It asks what it means to dance in a territory shaped by war, loss, and fractures, who dance belongs to, and what the body can still do against structures of domination, erasure, and forgetting. Through speech, movement, and presence, Rajeh traces a personal and collective past, exploring the marks history leaves on bodies. Dancing becomes an act of resistance, a way to surface memory, challenge dominant narratives, and open a space where past, present, and future converse. The piece is described as powerful and luminous, with dance revealed as a vital, political, and deeply human gesture. The event is a partner event of Club Artistik Rezo.
