OMA's 730 Stanyan: 160 Affordable Homes with Park Views in San Francisco
In partnership with Y.A. studio, OMA has finalized 730 Stanyan, marking its inaugural fully affordable housing initiative in the U.S. Situated at the intersection of Haight and Stanyan Streets, this development comprises 160 homes that are permanently affordable, created by TNDC and CCDC on a site previously occupied by a fast-food restaurant. Designed by OMA Partner Jason Long, the eight-story building includes family-oriented units, with 82 three-bedroom apartments averaging 93 square meters. The design aligns with the Haight-Ashbury aesthetic, featuring courtyards and terraces. The exterior showcases wave-shaped GFRC panels, while the ground level offers retail spaces, murals, and amenities. Rental prices vary from $583 to $3,300. Conceptual design commenced in June 2020, with groundbreaking in July 2023, and the project is expected to be completed by September 2025. The building is currently fully occupied.
