OMA and Y.A. Studio Complete 730 Stanyan, an Affordable Housing Development in San Francisco
Jason Long's OMA, in collaboration with Y.A. Studio, has finalized the 730 Stanyan project, a mixed-use affordable housing initiative spanning 194,000 square feet in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. This development provides 160 affordable residences aimed at low-income families, previously homeless individuals, and transition-age youth, with support from the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) and the Chinatown Community Development Center (CCDC). Marking OMA's inaugural 100% affordable housing endeavor in the United States, the design features two four-story structures alongside an eight-story component, optimizing natural light and outdoor areas. The façade is composed of glass-fiber-reinforced concrete panels, and the ground level includes three courtyards. The project is now fully occupied. Reyyan Dogan authored the article.
