OlssønBarbieri Designs "Lab Terroir" Packaging for Leske's Fermented Ambijus
Leske, a beverage manufacturer from Norway, has enlisted the Oslo-based studio OlssønBarbieri to develop Ambijus, a non-alcoholic fermented drink. The name is a fusion of "ambiguous" and "jus." The initial trio of offerings includes Act Naturally, Real Fantasy, and Clearly Confused. The brand identity is anchored by the phrase "The lab is our terroir," brought to life by artist Espen Friberg. Each 750ml bottle showcases uncoated paper adorned with artwork by French artist Alexis Jamet, which reflects themes of microorganisms, sensory experiences, and forest strolls. Typography differentiates the ingredients, using upright sans-serif for some and slanted italics for others, along with lot codes. Silver crown caps are topped with neck strips in yellow, coral-red, and mint-green. Anne Valeur captured images of the bottles on a damp brewery floor.
