Olivia Rainaldi's 'Sistema Arte Roma' Documents Rome's Art Ecosystem

Photographer Olivia Rainaldi, 23, is undertaking 'Sistema Arte Roma', a photographic project mapping the entire art ecosystem of Rome. The project includes not only artists, gallerists, and curators but also framers, foundry workers, and even a museum porter. Rainaldi photographs each subject in their professional space during a single encounter, without pre-visits or direction, allowing them to reveal their identity naturally. She has photographed about forty people so far and plans to continue until the project feels complete. The work is inspired by her upbringing with an artist father and art historian mother. Rainaldi also intends to publish the project on Instagram and a website, and may extend it to other art capitals. She does not consider AI a subject worth photographing.
