Olivia Dean, a British artist who won the Grammy for Best New Artist in February 2026, is facing plagiarism allegations concerning "Just the Two of Us," a classic by Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers that earned the Grammy for Best R&B Song in 1982. The Mattie Music Group, which owns Withers' catalog, claims that Dean’s track "I've Seen It," from her 2025 album The Art of Loving, contains significant portions of the original song. On Thursday, they filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group, Capitol Records, Sony Publishing, and Kobalt Music Publishing America. The resemblance between the two songs had already sparked discussions online, especially after "Just the Two of Us" gained popularity again on TikTok. Notably, Dean and her collaborators, Bastian Langbaek and Max Wolfgang, haven't been directly accused.
