OKKA Architects Transform Deteriorated Stone House and Traditional Beehive in Balaton Hills
OKKA architects has completed a residential project on the hills of Balaton, a landscape defined by small rural houses built from local stone. The site originally held a deteriorated stone house alongside two small attached outbuildings. One of those outbuildings served as a traditional "colmenar" — a beehive structure used for storing beehives. The design intervention addresses both the ruined main dwelling and the auxiliary structures, incorporating the historic beehive function into the new program. The project is published on ArchDaily under the title "Casa y colmenar / OKKA architects."
