OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen reclads Brussels office with aluminum tube facade

In Brussels' European Quarter, the office building at Rue Montoyer and Rue de la Science has undergone a major renovation by OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen. This project is part of the Cityforward plan, which aims to revitalize 3 million square feet of office space. The building now features two additional floors and a new facade made from matte metallic aluminum tubes that cleverly conceal ducts for a new HVAC system, complying with height restrictions. The anodized aluminum maintains its matte look, which is quite an achievement. The European Union uses the building, and the developers followed strict internal guidelines. OFFICE also focused on creating a single secure entrance, limiting public access to the ground level. The 'faux brut' design echoes their earlier work in Kortrijk and sets a standard for future projects.
