Of Thread and Stone: Group Exhibition at New Taipei City Art Museum Explores Material Histories
In February 2026, the New Taipei City Art Museum (NTCAM) unveiled the group exhibition 'Of Thread and Stone,' curated by Tsou Ting and Wang Han-fang. This exhibition delves into the labor histories of the textile and mining sectors in New Taipei City, focusing on both aboveground and underground experiences. Among the showcased pieces are jiandyin's 'Magic Mountain: The Lost Golden Pumpkin' (2025–26), Rayyane Tabet's ongoing works 'Fragments' (2016–ongoing) and 'Orthostates,' as well as Huang Po-chih's exploration of Hong Kong's textile industry. Additionally, Forensic Architecture presents 'Living Archaeology in Gaza' and 'The Ali Enterprises Factory Fire.' Indigenous artists are represented by Kieren Karritpul's paintings, Akac Orat's documentation, and Nii Nami's handwoven qabang blankets. The exhibition will be open until 13 June 2026.
