ODDO Architects Completes TH+ House on 2.5-Meter-Wide Plot in Hanoi
ODDO architects has completed the TH+ House in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2025. The residence occupies an exceptionally narrow site of only 2.5 meters in width, accessible solely through a network of narrow pedestrian alleys and surrounded by the city's characteristic informal vertical houses. The project, which covers 96 square meters, was curated by Miwa Negoro and photographed by Hoang Le. The design team included Nguyen Duc Trung, with principal architects Mai Lan Chi Obtulovičová, Nguyen Duc Trung, and Marek Obtulovic. B-Up Construction served as general contractor, and Ngo Anh Tuan provided structural engineering and consulting. The architects note that in Hanoi's alley neighborhoods, density is not only a physical condition but also a social one. Shared tea, small businesses, children playing in the street, and spontaneous encounters foster a strong sense of community within an otherwise highly compressed environment. This social intensity became a key premise for the design of the TH+ House.
