Objects of Common Interest Opens Resin Workshop in Piraeus, Greece
In 2022, Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis launched a resin fabrication workshop in Piraeus, Greece, within an 800 sq m experimental facility. Before founding Objects of Common Interest in New York in 2016, they operated LOT, which was highlighted in the Wallpaper* Architects Directory in 2014. The duo received the Wallpaper* Design Awards Designers of the Year accolade in 2022. The workshop concept emerged when artisan Ovidiu Colea proposed relocating his Long Island City resin workshop to Piraeus. Their ambitions focus on circular resin production. Trampoukis emphasizes the intricacies involved in resin crafting, while Petaloti considers the studio a hub for nurturing ideas. The workshop is included in Wallpaper's 'Work in Process' series.
