Oatelier Completes Husárik Hut, a Timber Home Inspired by Slovak Shepherd's Huts
Husárik Hut, a timber residence in Slovakia, has been finalized by Oatelier, a local architecture firm. This project draws inspiration from traditional shepherd's huts and is situated on a hillside with views of the Javorníky mountain range, showcasing the rural architectural heritage of the Kysuce region. Co-founder Martin Kvitkovský highlighted the importance of natural materials, proportions, and harmony with the landscape. The ground floor features an open layout with living, dining, and kitchen spaces centered around a fireplace, leading to a double-height area with a spacious terrace. The upper level comprises a skylit corridor that connects to niches for a study and bedrooms. The design incorporates an exposed timber framework and a modern material palette, resonating with local architecture. Photography by Peter Čintalan, courtesy of Dynameet Studio.
