O'Donnell + Tuomey's V&A East Museum opens in London's Olympic Park
The V&A East Museum, located in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and crafted by O'Donnell + Tuomey, will welcome visitors this Saturday following its construction completion. This five-story structure, adorned with concrete panels, sits across from the Olympic Stadium and includes a new square. Inside, visitors will find stacked galleries, event spaces, cafes, shops, and terraces, all connected by a continuous staircase leading to the main entrance. The permanent exhibition titled 'Why We Make' displays more than 500 items, featuring contributions from artists such as Yinka Ilori, Assemble, Yasmeen Lari, Vivienne Westwood, and Comme des Garçons. Additionally, the first temporary exhibition, 'The Music is Black: A British Story,' showcases over 200 artifacts. Studio Mutt has designed two shops, with photography credits to Hufton + Crow.
