Nordic Textile Takeover: The Cold Stitch at Scandinavia House

From September 4 to 16, Scandinavia House in New York City, in collaboration with New York Textile Month, will host NORDIC TEXTILE TAKEOVER: THE COLD STITCH. Curated by Ragna Froda, this exhibition showcases the work of 16 Nordic artists, such as Margrethe Aanestad, Valgerður Bergsdottir, and Ellen Dynebrink, focusing on textile traditions and material reuse. Scheduled events include a walkthrough with Ragna Froda on September 5, a basket weaving workshop led by Leila Bacch on September 8, artist discussions on September 12, a stitching circle workshop on September 13, and a concluding talk and workshop with Heidi Hankaniemi on September 16. The gallery will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 PM to 6 PM, and on September 16, it will extend hours to 12 PM to 8 PM, with free entry. This event is organized by the American-Scandinavian Foundation.
