Nora Lux's 'Le Eretiche, Sante e Profetesse' Performance at Rome's Palace of Justice
On June 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM, artist Nora Lux will present her performance 'Le Eretiche, Sante e Profetesse' in front of the Palace of Justice located in Piazza Cavour, Rome, coinciding with the Summer Solstice. This work is a continuation of her 20-year exploration of body and ritual, with the goal of redefining justice. Lux confronts male-dominated historical narratives, using the Greek word hairetiko to reclaim the notion of heresy. The performance highlights the stories of Margherita Porete, Joan of Arc, and Guglielma of Milan, all of whom faced persecution for their beliefs. Lux also constructs an anthropomorphic swastika, drawing from Jung, Marija Gimbutas, and shamanic traditions. Following Rome, the series will proceed to Palermo on July 14 with 'Santa Rosalia e l'ottagono del sole.'
