NOMO STUDIO's Pinewood Houses: Two Interlocking Homes in Costa Brava

NOMO STUDIO has designed Pinewood Houses, a pair of single-family residences set among pine trees near the beach in Costa Brava, on Spain's northern Mediterranean coast. The project, spanning 200 m², is scheduled for completion in 2026. The design is guided by a clear premise: the two homes are arranged in an interlocking manner to prevent them from obstructing each other, allowing each house to breathe and maintaining significant visual depth across the site. The architecture practice is led by principal architects Karl Johan Nyqvist and Alicia Casals, with a design team comprising Gonzalo de la Parra, Jennifer Méndez, and Blanca Algarra. Structural engineering was provided by Windmill, and Francesc Prat served as an additional consultant. Simone Marcolin photographed the project. The work falls under the categories of residential architecture, collective housing, and residential interiors. The project was curated by Valentina Díaz and submitted by the design team.
