Nodecraft Studio Designs Aalok Farmhouse as Pavilion Cluster Outside Bengaluru
Nodecraft Studio has completed Aalok Farmhouse, a three-bedroom rural residence on the outskirts of Bengaluru in which separate pavilions are linked by landscape rather than by internal corridors. The 3,000-square-foot project, scheduled for 2026, was led by principal architect Hemanth R, with styling by Shivani Raina and photography by Naresh and Nayan. Curated by Miwa Negoro, the scheme treats courtyards, existing trees and open thresholds as the generators of the architecture instead of reading the exterior as an extension of built form. Conceived as a retreat for family use and occasional business gatherings, the house demanded a balance between privacy and collective interaction. That brief pushed the design away from the conventional farmhouse model of enclosed rooms joined by interior hallways. Circulation instead moves outdoors, so that passage through the property becomes a sequence of shaded paths, courtyards and framed views. The architects describe the project as a reinterpretation of the farmhouse typology through a series of independent pavilions connected by the landscape.
