NODE Brings Digital Art Into Silicon Valley’s Cultural Centre
NODE, a Palo Alto nonprofit foundation, is positioning artists at the center of Silicon Valley's cultural shift. Executive Director Phil Mohun appeared at the sold-out New York Times 'Hard Fork Live' in San Francisco alongside Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, EFF privacy advocate Cindy Cohn, and Figma CEO Dylan Field. NODE's current exhibition features Beeple's robot dogs 'Regular Animals' with faces of Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Since opening in January, NODE drew over 20,000 visitors in the first month, with queues and overnight camping. Beeple's exhibition closes June 28; Kim Asendorf's 'PXL' opens July 11. Asendorf, from Berlin, creates algorithmic pixel works and has directed music videos for Metallica.
