NODE Architecture & Urbanism's Micro-Infrastructure Buildings in Guangdong
In Guangdong, China, NODE Architecture & Urbanism, under the leadership of Doreen Heng Liu, has successfully completed several micro-infrastructure initiatives. These include a revamped public restroom at the Route 1 Bus Terminal in Guangzhou and the Yantian Reservoir Management Building along with its pumping station in Guangming Science City. The renovation of the restroom, curated by Han Shuang and documented by Chao Zhang, maintained the original design while enhancing both accessibility and capacity. This project was commissioned by the Guangzhou Yuexiu District Urban Management Bureau, with contributions from team members Huang Jiebin, Huang Zanning, and Huang Guoliang. The Yantian Reservoir was created by Shenzhen Pumped Storage Power Generation Co., Ltd., with the design provided by the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, while the pumping station was a joint effort between Shenzhen Water Planning & Design Institute and NODE.
