Nocs Provisions Launches Portal AFN7 Screenless Camera with Kodak-Inspired Film Simulations

Nocs Provisions, known for rugged binoculars, has released the Portal AFN7 Adventure Camera, the first in a planned series for outdoor enthusiasts. The screenless camera weighs 140 grams and is IP58-rated against dust, rain, and heavy splashes. It features a 16-megapixel Type 1/3.06 sensor behind a 22.5mm f/2.2 equivalent lens, captures 4Kp30 video, and offers 8x digital zoom plus six film-inspired presets, including Kodachrome 64 and Kodak Gold 200 simulations. Lacking an optical viewfinder, it uses a small digital electronic viewfinder and pairs with Nocs optics via the included NocDoc alignment shroud, enabling magnified photo and video capture through binoculars or monoculars. Storage is via microSD (4GB included, up to 128GB), with transfer through card reader or USB-C, and smartphone recognition for on-trail access. Power comes from a sealed 800 mAh battery rated for about 3,000 photos or 30–35 minutes of continuous 4K video. Available in Galapagos Gray, Moonwalk White, and Lassen Black, it costs $180 and is sold directly by Nocs or at REI, with a lifetime warranty for manufacturing issues and two-year electronics coverage. The design aims to keep technology unobtrusive and encourage instinctive shooting.
