Nikki Hiltz: First Out Trans Olympian in Individual Final

Nikki Hiltz, a track athlete who publicly identified as nonbinary in 2021, made history by becoming the first openly transgender Olympian to reach an individual final, finishing seventh in the women's 1,500 meters at the 2024 Paris Games. In a recent interview with Vogue, Hiltz shared insights about their preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Games, their recovery following top surgery in September 2024, and their engagement to Emma Gee, who is recognized as the first openly LGBTQ+ athlete at Brigham Young University.
