Nike Unveils Custom Speed Suit for Keely Hodgkinson at London's Athlos Meet

Keely Hodgkinson, a British middle-distance athlete, is set to unveil an innovative Nike speed suit at the women-only Athlos track event, taking place at London's StoneX Stadium. This race will conclude her season. The aerodynamic black suit features a hood and an open back. Dan Farron from Nike spearheaded the design, which aims to embody Hodgkinson's aesthetic while optimizing for speed, comfort, and thermoregulation. A digital avatar was created through 3D scanning to aid in the prototype's development. The suit incorporates mini vortex generators, carefully placed cut-outs for enhanced mobility, and finger gloves to minimize wind drag. Hodgkinson established the women's indoor record in February and recorded a time of 1:54:33 in June, the sixth-fastest outdoor performance ever. The current women's outdoor 800 metres world record stands at 1:53:28, set by Jarmila Kratochvílová in 1983.
