Nicola Toffolini's 'Roseo' at Kappa-Nöun Explores the Impossible Pursuit of a Single Color
Nicola Toffolini's exhibition 'Roseo' will be showcased at Kappa-Nöun in San Lazzaro di Savena (Bologna) from 12 September to 25 October 2026, following nearly two years of development. This initiative originates from 'Matrice', a sheet adorned with the salmon-hued Caran d'Ache Neocolor II pastel, number 7500.051. Toffolini investigates this color through various mediums, producing approximate outcomes. His two significant pieces, 'Campione #01' and 'Campione #02', draw inspiration from Gerhard Richter's 'Farbtafeln', substituting variations with an idealistic pursuit. 'Nubi domestiche' showcases water reserves on trestles, while 'Rudere' and 'Sentinelle' mimic large household appliances. 'Presenze #01' depicts an inverted tripod within a crater, and 'Distesa' is a 4.5-meter-long roll of salmon-painted paper. Toffolini's sketchbooks contain working titles and reflections on intuition and silence.
