Nicola Genovese's 'Infinite Stage – Chapter I' Confronts Digital Afterlife at Raleigh Chapel

Raleigh Chapel in Stoke Newington, London, hosted Nicola Genovese's solo exhibition and performance 'Infinite Stage – Chapter I' from 17 to 28 June 2026. The show explored griefbots and ghostbots—AI reconstructions of the deceased—and their impact on mourning. Sculptures doubled as stage props, activated during two live performances featuring flute, violin, dance, and video. Performers included Magda Drozd, Jeonghan Yoon, Alice Köppel, Lelah Neary, Arianna Ransley, and Umlilo. Key works included 'Exhale your last breath' (2026), anthropomorphic sculptures with elderly masks evoking bodily impermanence. The exhibition juxtaposed Baroque excess with dystopian themes, referencing Black Mirror and the Theatre of the Absurd. A banner reading 'MEMENTO MORI' was carried through the space.
