New York's Design Scene Gets a Refresh with Nine New Showrooms

New York's design scene is experiencing a wave of new showroom openings this summer, from heritage Italian brands to emerging studios. Wretched Flowers and Petra Hardware opened a four-story SoHo atelier featuring Loney Abrams and Johnny Stanish's Artifact collection and Monica Khemsurov's hand-cast brass hardware. Makrosha founder Esha Ahmed unveiled a Union Square showroom designed with Tara McCauley, inspired by Andy Warhol's Factory. Manes Studio, by Jack and Josh Manes, transformed a Cobble Hill storefront into a showroom with custom furnishings and artisanal goods. Australian rug maker Armadillo established a 4,000-square-foot Flatiron showroom overlooking Madison Square Park, designed with Klein Agency. The Lacquer Company opened its first U.S. showroom at the New York Design Center, showcasing Vietnamese Son Mai lacquer techniques. Audo Copenhagen debuted Audo House New York in a landmarked Tribeca building, designed with Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and styled by Colin King. Tom Dixon relocated its flagship to Tribeca's Franklin Street, featuring collaborations with Monogram, Reform, and Bang & Olufsen. Baxter opened its first New York flagship in SoHo, highlighting Italian leather craftsmanship with designs by Paola Navone and Christophe Delcourt. Arteriors expanded to a larger suite at the New York Design Center, displaying over 500 pieces and a capsule collection by Barry Dixon.
