New York Fall Season Spotlights Tactile Turn: Benglis, Arp, Zhang, Guralnick
This autumn, galleries in New York are prioritizing tangible artworks over digital representations. From September 11 to October 24, 2026, Pace Gallery will present Lynda Benglis's KNOTTING, TYING, FOLDING, which includes her creations in ceramics, bronze, and glass. Meanwhile, Hauser & Wirth will showcase Hans Arp: Heads or Tails from September 10 to October 17, 2026, featuring Arp's distinctive cut-outs and sculptures. LATITUDE Gallery will display Ziyi Zhang's PIXEL//FLESH from September 9 to October 17, 2026, integrating painting with robotic technology. Lastly, Nancy Hoffman Gallery will highlight Jody Guralnick's As Close As Breath from September 10 to October 28, 2026, which emphasizes textured acrylic compositions. The piece explores the growing emphasis on physicality in art within a digital age.
