NEVERCREW Unveils 'Paper-thin' Mural in Geneva Addressing Healthcare in Conflict Zones

On August 19, Swiss artists NEVERCREW, consisting of Christian Rebecchi and Pablo Togni, revealed a mural named 'Paper-thin' at Parc des Chaumettes in Geneva to commemorate World Humanitarian Day. This artwork, created for Médecins Sans Frontières Switzerland and HUG, received backing from the International Committee of the Red Cross, WHO, and the Canton of Geneva. It highlights the need for healthcare protection in conflict zones, drawing on UN Security Council Resolution 2286 from May 3, 2016. The mural's focal point is a torn piece of paper hovering over caregivers, representing fragile protection. HUG Director-General Robert Mardini described the mural as a gesture of solidarity with those impacted by violence, while NEVERCREW pointed out the disparity between promises and the harsh reality faced by medical personnel.
