Netflix Developing Series on Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera's Relationship

Netflix is developing a scripted series focusing on the complex relationship between Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The project adapts Claire Berest's novel 'Frida' and aims to explore their personal dynamics within the social and political context of their era. Patricia Riggen and Gabriel Ripstein will co-direct, with Mónica Lozano producing and María Renée Prudencio as head writer. The series is in early development with casting not yet announced. Netflix Mexico's content vice president described the project as having unprecedented ambition.
