Nelson Felix's 'Beijo de Língua' Opens at MAC USP After 50 Years of Reflection
Starting on May 30, 2026, the Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo (MAC USP) will host a solo exhibition titled 'Beijo de Língua' (Tongue Kiss) by Brazilian artist Nelson Felix. Curated by Fernanda Pitta, the exhibition showcases approximately 90 pieces, including sculptures, drawings, photographs, and video, that delve into themes of language, memory, sculpture, and spirituality. The project, which has its roots in a conversation from the 1970s in Lima, Peru, was completed following a trip to the Vatican in 2022. Noteworthy works include three large sculptures made of Carrara marble, featuring texts by Bertrand Russell, Homer, and Teresa of Ávila, translated into Aymara and Aramaic. Admission is free, and it also features pieces from the 'Carta de Amor' project (2022).
