Nawin Nuthong's Video Game Project 147 Debuts as Chanel's First Gateway Commission at DiB Bangkok

exhibition · 2026-09-29

The inaugural Chanel Gateway Commission, Nawin Nuthong's Project 147, is showcased in 'Giving Life' at DiB, a contemporary art museum in Bangkok, Thailand. This video game invites players to delve into animated scenes where a child searches for historical significance, blending Thai folklore with nostalgic elements. Attendees can create avatars that appear on a large screen. Born in 1993 in Bangkok, Nuthong considers this his first public presentation. Miwako Tezuka, the director of DiB, emphasizes the international storytelling aspect of gaming. This commission represents the Chanel Culture Fund's initial collaboration with a Southeast Asian art institution. DiB, which opened in December 2025 by Purat 'Chang' Osathanugrah, features his father's extensive 1,000-piece collection. The exhibition is available until 5 May 2027.
