Natixis Survey: 95% of Hong Kong Investors Aim to Beat Markets, Return Hopes Trail Asia
A Natixis Investment Managers survey conducted in August found that 95 per cent of Hong Kong respondents want to outperform the market, the highest share in Asia, where the regional average was 85 per cent. Hong Kong investors also projected long-term returns of 12.3 per cent above inflation, below the Asian average of 17.3 per cent, indicating a more measured outlook even as AI-driven optimism lifted expectations across the region. The findings were attributed to an 18-month market rally partly fuelled by the AI boom, which inflated return expectations elsewhere in Asia. The survey covered investors across Asia and was carried out by Natixis Investment Managers, a firm whose results were reported by the South China Morning Post.
