More than 60 artists and collectives will feature in Full Throttle, an exhibition examining the automobile as a symbol of modern life, the National Gallery of Australia has announced. Opening in Kamberri/Canberra on 5 December 2026 and running until 11 April 2027, the show assembles over 200 works spanning sculpture, painting, installation, textiles, video and works on paper. The exhibition draws on the legacy of the film Mad Max, using the car as a lens for considering contemporary existence.
