NAN Arquitectos Renovates Pontevedra Apartment for Illustrator
NAN Arquitectos has completed Casa Parche, a renovation of a 1960s apartment in Pontevedra, Spain, for an illustrator. The project, completed in 2025, reconfigures the 164-square-meter space into three bedrooms, a living-dining-kitchen, three bathrooms, and a large creative studio that serves as the core of the home. The design preserves original features such as the metal structure and terrazzo flooring, while introducing dark-stained wood, pastel yellow, sky blue, maroon, and English green accents that reference the owner's graphic universe and 20th-century modernism. A mobile table system allows the studio to adapt for individual or collaborative work. Traces of removed partitions are marked with 10x10 cm black ceramic tiles, making modifications visible. Indirect lighting integrated into panels and shelving highlights architectural elements and creates varied atmospheres. The project was photographed by Iván Casal Nieto.
