Museo Nacional de San Carlos revisits still life through contemporary lens

At the Museo Nacional de San Carlos in Mexico City, the exhibition titled 'La vida de las cosas. Naturaleza muerta y cultura material' is on display, curated by María José Rojas Rendón and Luis Gómez Mata. This showcase reevaluates the concept of still life through a modern lens, highlighting pieces from the 16th to 21st centuries drawn from nearly 15 collections. It presents objects as dynamic entities that reflect social connections and historical narratives. The exhibition is divided into five thematic categories: origins, fruits and vegetables, flowers, animals, and manufactured goods, addressing contemporary topics such as sustainability and the effects of capitalism. Additionally, it aligns with the 89th edition of Glocal Design Magazine, 'Visionarias del espacio', which features 15 female architects and collector covers by Prince Láuder and Jimena Estíbaliz.
