Museo Goya Reopens in Zaragoza with Expanded Space, New Digital Installations and 'Solo Goya' Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-10-10

After an architectural renovation by Sebastián Arquitectos, the Museo Goya in Zaragoza has reopened, now covering 4,661 square metres. This initiative reorganizes the galleries, enhances accessibility, and increases the space for temporary exhibitions. A new entrance on Calle Santiago features a stone façade that draws inspiration from Goya's prints. The temporary exhibition hall has been expanded to 315 square metres and is currently hosting 'Solo Goya. El arte de ver', curated by Luis Fernández-Galiano, which displays nearly fifty works from various collections and museums. The exhibition is segmented into three parts: 'Las luces y las sombras', 'El poder del retrato', and 'Los lazos del afecto'. Additionally, the permanent collection has been restored, and a new Centro de Estudios Francisco de Goya now contains over 1,400 volumes. A series of lectures will continue through December.
