Museo Armando De Stefano Opens in Vico Equense on Artist's Centenary

On June 19, 2026, the Museo Armando De Stefano will be inaugurated in Vico Equense, Italy, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth. Situated in Palazzo Comunale, this initiative is a partnership involving the local government, De Stefano's relatives, and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli. The scientific committee features members such as Stefano De Stefano, Gianlorenzo De Stefano, Valentina Autiero, Enrica D'Aguanno, Giuseppe Gaeta, Daniela Pergreffi, Olga Scotto di Vettimo, and Angela Tecce. The casa-museo aims to replicate the ambiance of De Stefano's studio in Naples, showcasing approximately 30 artworks, including notable pieces from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as series like 'Rivoluzione napoletana del 1799' and 'Porta di Stabia.' De Stefano (1926-2021) was a co-founder of Gruppo Sud and collaborated with Borges in his later years.
