Musée Camille Claudel Reunites Claudel and Bernhard Hoetger in Immersive 1905 Gallery Recreation

exhibition · 2026-07-31

At the Musée Camille Claudel in Nogent-sur-Seine, an exhibition showcases the artistic exchange between Camille Claudel (1864–1943) and Bernhard Hoetger (1874–1949), whose works were initially exhibited together in 1905 at Eugène Blot's gallery. Curated by Pauline Fleury Goetschel, the display comprises nearly 90 pieces, including sculptures, drawings, paintings, and photographs, recreating a gallery atmosphere from the fin-de-siècle era. This collaboration with the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum and the Alte Nationalgalerie opens with the 1905 duo exhibition, highlighting Claudel's twelve sculptures from that year and delving into Hoetger's architectural and design skills. The exhibition is scheduled from 12 September 2026 to 10 January 2027 at 10, rue Gustave Flaubert, 10400 Nogent-sur-Seine.
