Muhka Summer 2026: Nicola L., Mukendi, Shantar Solo Shows
Muhka in Antwerp presents a summer 2026 programme featuring three solo exhibitions: Nicola L.'s first Belgian solo show 'When the Earth Turned the Other Way' (25 Jun–18 Oct), Jean Katambayi Mukendi's 'RATIO' (6 Jun–27 Sep) with new drawings, paintings and monumental sculptures, and Denys Shantar's 'On Saints and Monuments' (26 Jun–23 Aug) examining Belgium's colonial past. A new collection presentation 'Ongoing' (6 Jun 2026–3 Jan 2027) focuses on artistic process, while archive presentation 'Old Guard? Avant-Garde!' (6 Jun–13 Sep) revisits post-war avant-garde through Jozef Peeters, Paul Joostens and Michel Seuphor. AAIMACHINE's expanding collective artwork 'Salon de la Muse' occupies the reading room (25 Jun–25 Oct). 'Vleeshal Collectie on Tour' (5 Jul–13 Sep) sends works from Vleeshal and Muhka collections to ten locations in Zeeland, Netherlands, celebrating Vleeshal's 50th anniversary. Mukendi's exhibition coincides with 'Circuits', the first monograph on his work.
