MOST Monti Studio Rehabilitates Abandoned Building for Italian Trade Agency in Dakar

Within the Italian Embassy complex in Dakar, Senegal, a new headquarters for the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) has been completed through the rehabilitation of an abandoned building. The ITA is responsible for promoting Italian companies abroad and supporting their internationalization. The project, designed by MOST Monti Studio, covers 150 m² and was completed in 2025. Rather than a simple functional conversion, the design adopts reuse as an architectural and cultural choice, offering an alternative to constructing an entirely new office building in the city center. The project team was led by Fatou Poulho Sow, Omar Diouf, and Omar Gueye. The design team included Linda Cacciò and Mouhamed Gueye, with Marieme Ndoye as technical team member. Mirco Monti served as principal architect, and MEGASA Construction was the general contractor. Photography was by Andrea Martiradonna, and the project was curated by Miwa Negoro. The work falls under categories including other government buildings, office interiors, and extensions.
