Morterone's Open-Air Museum Comes to Milan: Bocconi Art Gallery Video
In 2025, Milan's Bocconi Art Gallery showcased the open-air contemporary art museum from Morterone, a quaint mountain village in Lecco province, through the initiative 'Morterone. Natura Arte Poesia.' This project is documented in a new video that connects the artworks to their original landscapes and the cultural journey that brought them to Milan. Since the 1980s, Morterone, situated at the base of Monte Resegone in Valsassina, has been home to a unique artistic endeavor inspired by poet Carlo Invernizzi's 'Natura Naturans' and the Associazione Culturale Amici di Morterone, established in 1986. The evolving museum now features over forty outdoor artworks by both Italian and international artists, including Rodolfo Aricò and Gianni Colombo. In 2021, the Casa dell'Arte was introduced as a new exhibition space. The twelfth edition at Bocconi displayed 35 pieces from Morterone among 138 works by 75 artists, across two locations: Via Röntgen and Via Sarfatti. The YouTube video delves into the interplay of art, nature, and poetry.
