Morocco Unveils Grand Stade Hassan II, World's Largest Soccer Stadium for 2030 World Cup

Plans have been announced for the Grand Stade Hassan II in Casablanca, which is poised to be the largest soccer stadium globally, boasting a capacity of 115,000. The design, a collaboration between Populous and Parisian architects Oualalou + Choi, reflects traditional Moroccan architecture, inspired by the 'moussem' festival celebrated under expansive tent-like structures. This stadium will play a significant role in the 2030 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, along with select matches in South America. It features a striking tented roof made from an aluminum lattice, supported by 32 stairways, and includes gardens elevated over 90 feet. A dedicated section for supporters will have 29,500 general admission spots, while the main stands will offer five levels of hospitality with 12,000 premium seats. Beyond the World Cup, it will serve as the home ground for the Morocco national team and local clubs Raja CA and Wydad AC, alongside facilities for training, hotels, retail, and leisure, driving urban development in El Mansouria, 23 miles from Casablanca. Morocco aims to host the final match, although the 2030 World Cup schedule remains unconfirmed.
