Moorgen opens smart lighting showroom in Milan during Design Week

architecture-design · 2026-06-22

Moorgen, a German-born smart lighting company now led by a Chinese group, opened its first Italian showroom at Corso Europa 10 in Milan's San Babila district during Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week. The experiential gallery showcases intelligent lighting systems that adapt to daily life, featuring collaborations with Philippe Starck (Rock & Fire collection), Kengo Kuma (sculptural control panels), Zaha Hadid Architects (fluid light forms), and Steve Leung (elegant minimalism). Highlights include Aurea, a lamp by Andrea Bonini and Steve Leung made of white alabaster that adjusts light through rotation; the Salute collection by Leung with jade cup holders; Jorge Herrera's geometric alabaster pieces; Ray Wong's portable X Series; and Herrera's CrystalSeries. Smart dimmers with precision-watch aesthetics complete the system. The brand aims to merge engineering, design, and architecture, making technology invisible while enhancing spatial experience.
