architecture-design · 2026-06-04

Montague House, a 5,000-square-foot residence in Toronto, was completed in 2023 by Studio of Contemporary Architecture (SOCA), led by Tura Cousins Wilson. The home belongs to Kenneth Montague, a dentist and collector, his wife Sarah Aranha (a visual artist and educator), and their two sons. Montague's Wedge Collection is a major private collection dedicated to Black artists, and his nonprofit Wedge Curatorial Projects produces exhibitions and events exploring Black identity. The project team included structural engineer Engineering Link, mechanical consultant ZAAB Consulting, and general contractor Derek Nicholson Construction. Manufacturers included Lepage Millwork and Moncer Flooring. The project was curated by Susanna Moreira and photographed by Doublespace photography.
