other · 2026-07-12

The 11th edition of Monocle's Quality of Life Conference made its way back to Lisbon, the city where it first launched in 2015. The 2026 event took place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, accompanied by a gala dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz. This gathering followed Monocle's Quality of Life Survey released in July/August, which assessed livable cities. Notable speakers included Carlos Moedas, the mayor of Lisbon, along with Robert Bound, Nicolas Gabard, Courtney Conley, Ricardo Nunes, Verbal, and Yü-Ge Wang, who led a charity auction benefiting the Committee to Protect Journalists. Attendees from Monocle included Andrew Tuck, Fiona Wilson, Pedro Beça, Carlota Rebelo, and Sophie Grove. The welcome cocktail was hosted at Verride Palácio de Santa Catarina, with the final breakfast held at the Mude design museum. The next conference is set for 2027.
