Mona Hatoum's 'Over, under and in between' at Fondazione Prada, Milan

Mona Hatoum's solo exhibition 'Over, under and in between' at Fondazione Prada's Cisterna in Milan runs until 9 November. The show features three large-scale installations: 'Web' (2026), a suspended network of hand-blown glass spheres; 'Map (red)' (2026), a floor-based cartographic piece of over 30,000 red glass spheres using the Gall-Peters projection; and 'all of a quiver' (2022), a motorized kinetic grid of metal cubes rising over eight metres. The Cisterna, a 1909 industrial distillery, anchors the spatial choreography. Hatoum explores themes of order, control, and fragility through recurring geometries of web, map, and grid, avoiding literal political commentary.
